Hey there! I forced myself to make a strapless top! And yes, that is a hard thing to make. I had to make a corset underneath because I don't want to show of things that seem to be inappropriate in western countries. No idea why but that's another story. So! I've also drawn some flared trousers to give it a bohemian twirl but they turned out to be perfect for mister Presley.

First things first. With stickable tape I made stylelines on the bust. Stylelines always have to go over the highest points and the more, the better the fit. So I made a lot of lines. In the post with the blue dress you can read more about this.

To make the pattern just pin the mouseline on the mannequin, trace the stylelines over and trace those on pattern paper! Et Voila! You've got yourself a really tight pattern! If you like to breath just add some more space between the patterns (not too much because of the inappropriate-thingy).

All the pattern parts together. Finished my tea, need to make more to continue.

I've cutted 4 layers of fabric, because I want the boning not to be seen nor felt. That's why I will make two layers.

Because I want the top all flairy and fun I've folded a big piece of fabric in half and tried to cut out a quarter circle. I've sewn this on the bodice and then cut it straight.

I bought this fabric in Amsterdam (boerenbonthal at the Albert Cuypstraat). The fabric contains cotton and polyester and is woven with a satin weave. This gives the fabric a shimmer.

I'm using 1.5 cm seam allowance and I'm drawing this in with this super handy grader square I bought at Morplan in London:) Love it, buy it.

A pocket contains two parts, you can see that in your own trousers too. Of course I also made a waistband but he didn't want to get on the picture. He's very sorry though.
